The opening of our Women’s Overnight Shelter in 2016 was a big accomplishment for UGM-TC, as it was the first time we could offer any type of emergency overnight housing for women in Tarrant County.

For most of us, Christmas is a special time of year filled with love and joy. However, for those facing homelessness, the holidays aren’t always bright and cheerful. Which is why at UGM-TC this year we worked diligently to give our residents the Christmas experience they deserved.

Renewal Story: Rubie

It’s easy to forget that while the first Christmas was certainly joyful, it was anything but comfortable. Mary and Joseph were essentially homeless when our Savior was born, grateful for the rough shelter they were given. Rubie knows what it feels like to be homeless. “It takes a lot out of you just to survive,” she says.
