A letter from Don Shisler addressing COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Posted: March 13, 2020

Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County is staying informed about COVID-19 (coronavirus) and taking the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of the population we serve, our staff, and our volunteers. We have intensified cleaning regimens and made sanitizing stations readily available. All decisions are consistent with Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations and have been carefully made to support the prevention of the COVID-19 virus from being spread in our community.

To follow city guidelines and the "stay at home" order, we are unable to have volunteers on our  campus at this time. In one month, we will reassess volunteer restrictions based on local, state, and federal guidelines along with recommendations of the CDC and make a decision that will be in the best interest of our residents, guests, and volunteers.

This community has done a phenomenal job of providing faithful support to UGM-TC during difficult times in the past. I am asking you to please continue your faithful support as we need you now more than ever. While some businesses or organizations may be able to temporarily close, we will have our doors open continuing to serve on the front lines.

I know this situation is in the Lord’s hands and we will get through this together. Please keep our community in your prayers and stay safe!

In Christ,

Don Shisler

President/CEO
