Volunteer Appreciation

Posted: September 27, 2018

Last week we honored the tireless dedication of the incredible UGM-TC volunteers at our annual volunteer appreciation banquet. The rain couldn’t stop us from enjoying delicious food and fellowship at Joe T. Garcia’s. We say it time and time again, but UGM-TC would not run properly without the help of our devoted volunteers. They make a difference in the lives of our residents and guests daily.

Did you know that in 2017 2,500 volunteers contributed over 40,165 hours in time, valued at over $969,603 in staff savings? Wow!

Also, last Thursday was also the exciting annual North Texas Giving Day. To celebrate UGM-TC’s 130 years of service in Tarrant County, we threw a birthday party for our residents and staff. We celebrated with donuts, games, cake and more. There was definitely no shortage of fun. Our overall goal for the day was to raise $48,000 for our Children’s Enrichment Program. We are excited to announce that we exceeded that goal, raising a total of $67, 803. Amazing! This money will allow us to purchase a new computer lab with learning software, uniforms and more for the kids that UGM-TC serves. Thank you to everyone who contributed. These gifts will go even further because they will be eligible for bonus funds. We cannot say thank you enough!
