Tutoring and Enrichment

We have volunteer opportunities for our tutoring program: 3 days per week/2 shifts per day.
Monday – Thursday, 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm, 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Make a difference for children through the tutoring program one or more evening a week. Please note, all tutors are required to be 18 years old or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Kitchen and Dining

We have volunteer opportunities for Food Service: 7 days a week, 3 meals a day

Kitchen/Dining Hall - Cox Building
Breakfast Serving: 5:30 am – 7:30 am
Lunch Serving: 10:45 am – 1:00 pm 
Dinner Serving: 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm

Club 1401
Breakfast Serving: 6:00 am - 8:00 am
Lunch Serving: 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
Dinner Serving: 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Assist the kitchen staff in preparing and serving meals. We schedule 10 volunteers per meal/per location/per shift. Sack lunches are also needed for residents and guests of the Mission. These are made from home per UGM-TC Sack Lunch guidelines. (Provided upon request)

Warehouse

Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

We have many generous donors of clothing, furniture, housewares, hygiene and other items. Volunteers can help with the sorting and organizing so that our residents and guests can “shop” for items they need.

Alpha Leader

Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the basics of Christian faith. Typically run over 11 weeks, each session looks at a different question that people can have about faith and is designed to create conversation.

If you have taken an ALPHA course or are a trained ALPHA Leader or Helper, we welcome you as a volunteer for the ALPHA sessions. There is scheduled training for the upcoming courses at Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County. Chapel Leader

Monday – Saturday, 5 services a day, between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm
Sunday, Services 11:00 am and 4:00 pm

We welcome individuals and groups interested in sharing God’s love by leading a chapel service or sharing musical talents. If you are interested, please contact Chaplain Andy Powell at 817.334.0894 or APowell@ugm-tc.org.
