Urgent need: Just $2.23 offers a meal, safety and hope

Posted: February 12, 2019

Safe and warm today at Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County, Sheryl still can’t forget the two weeks she spent sleeping in her car. “It’s scary. You sleep with one eye open because you never know what’s going on out there on the street.”

it’s estimated that 745 women are homeless in Tarrant and Parker Counties.* Some, like Sheryl, are sheltered here at the Mission, but many others are still cold, hungry and vulnerable on our streets.

It only costs $2.23 to provide a hot meal at UGM-TC. In the coming month, we expect to serve nearly 34,370 meals to hungry men, women and children. Each meal served can be a new beginning for someone like Sheryl.

Your online gift today will make all the difference in the world to our homeless neighborsjust like it did for Sheryl.

Since coming to UGM-TC, Sheryl says, “I have hope. I actually wake up smiling in the morning!”

There are still hundreds of women on the streets who, like Sheryl, “don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow.” Please make an online gift today to offer them safety, security and a new beginning in this new year. Thank you!
