100 new volunteers in ONE week!

Posted: January 28, 2016

The kindness of our neighbors continues to bless us each day! With the help of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the Mayor’s Week of Compassionate Service, about 100 new volunteers entered the doors of UGM-TC to dedicate their time to those in need during the week of January 18. Can you believe it? We do!

Volunteer groups included, but weren’t limited to:

  • L.D. Bell High School students
  • Superior Silica Sand employees
  • Compass Church members
  • Kenneth Copeland Ministries employees

In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, CUNA Mutual Group of Fort Worth held a coat drive and donated a generous gift. To top everything off, FedEx donated 3,500 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to the Fort Worth area and gifted UGM-TC with 1,000 of them.

God’s grace is ever-present here in Tarrant County. We are thankful for the kind hearts of those who give time, money or in kind gifts to the Mission, pray for the Mission and even think of the Mission. Because of you and our Savior, Jesus Christ, we are able to offer large doses of hope to the people we serve.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

Matthew 23:35-26
