Christmas 2018 at UGM-TC

Posted: December 26, 2018

What a wonderful Christmas we had this year at Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County! We hope your holiday was filled with as much joy as ours was.

Thanks to generous community members, we turned our boardroom into a “toy store” filled with new toys for kids of all ages. Every parent staying at the Mission was able to choose multiple gifts for each of their children and have them beautifully wrapped by volunteers.

On Christmas Eve morning, each child received a special gift bag from Santa. They were filled with items picked out just for them by volunteers who “adopted” a child for the holidays.

We didn’t forget about our adult residents either! They each received a care package filled with winter clothing, toiletries and other essential items donated by generous people in our community. They also were able to attend a special concert and party with plenty of delicious treats to go around.

Finally, on Christmas day, all of our residents and guests enjoyed a special meal in the dining hall. After the meal, guests from the street were invited to our Warehouse to receive a Christmas gift of their own.

Thank you to everyone who made this Christmas special for our residents and guests. Whether you prayed for us, served a meal, wrapped a gift, donated essential items or supported us monetarily, we could not have done it without you!
