Holiday volunteers served more than 5,900 hours

Posted: January 19, 2016

The numbers are in! The amount of hours our volunteers served during the holiday season is equivalent to $132,750 of salary paid to a UGM-TC employee. Between November 1 and December 31, volunteers dedicated more than 5,900 hours of their time to enhance the lives of neighbors in need.

Toy and clothes drives also touched Mission residents in a special way, providing parents the experience to shop for their children in a “toy store” and surprise them with gifts on Christmas morning. The generosity of the community filled 15 little hearts with joy and instilled memories to last a lifetime. None of this would have been possible without the continuous kindness from the Near East Side neighborhood, the city of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, given to us by the grace of Christ Jesus. Thank you!
