Easter at UGM-TC!

Posted: April 2, 2018

Easter is always a very special time here at Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County. We not only celebrate the glorious resurrection of our Lord, but the renewed lives of our residents.

This year, a local Girl Scout troop organized an Easter egg hunt for the children at the Mission with over 1,500 eggs! They also received a special visit from the Easter bunny himself. After the egg hunts and fun, every child received a basket full of fun goodies. Plus, thanks to the generosity of the community, every family received a Wal-Mart gift certificate to buy a new Easter outfit for the special day.

Our residents were treated to delicious food all weekend. On Good Friday, St. Lawrence Church prepared a spaghetti lunch, just as they have done for 25 years now! Wow! On Easter Sunday our kitchen prepared a wonderful brunch for a hundreds of residents and guests.

The most inspiring part of our celebration was Father Stanley’s Easter Sunday chapel services. He brought faith, hope and light into the lives and hearts of our residents and guests as he shared the Good News.

Thank You for helping to bless our residents and guests this Easter!
