Easter at UGM-TC

Posted: April 2, 2015

Easter is a very special time at UGM-TC. We honor and celebrate Jesus’s death and resurrection throughout the Easter season. The children living at the Mission are able to participate in an Easter egg hunt set-up in the garden and visit with the Easter bunny. Each child gets their own Easter basket full of wonderful goodies too! Also, our families get Wal-Mart gift certificates to buy new Easter outfits.

In the Dining Hall, there are plenty of delicious meals being served as well! Residents are treated to spaghetti lunch on Good Friday. On Easter Sunday we have brunch, allowing everyone to share in friendship and fellowship! In total, we usually serve over 400 people on Easter Sunday!

Most importantly, Father Stanley leads chapel services on Sunday for residents and guests to share the Good News. The inspirational story of Easter brings faith, hope and light into the lives of our residents and guests.

Special thanks especially to Good Shepherd Catholic Church, St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, St. Laurence Church and Meadowbrook United Methodist for providing Easter baskets, care packages, hosting an Easter egg hunt and serving meals. Another special thanks to our generous donors who not only gave monetarily, but also sent blessing cards displayed in our Dining Hall for all of our residents and guests to read.

Easter is blessed here at UGM-TC because of YOU!
