Exciting Times at UGM-TC!

Posted: September 23, 2016

The past week at Union Gospel Mission has been one for the books! We started things off on September 21st by celebrating the dedication of our new Scott Walker Women and Families Services Building and the unveiling of the Dallas Mavericks Foundation computer lab. Then, on September 22nd we held our annual volunteer banquet, as well as it was North Texas Giving Day.

The dedication of the Scott Walker Women and Families Services Building and the unveiling of the Dallas Mavericks Computer Lab was a huge success. There were over 200 people in attendance. UGM President/CEO Don Shisler, and Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price spoke about the opportunities the new 40,000 square foot building will bring to the community. We are thrilled to be able to serve the growing needs in our community more efficiently to increase our amount of successful outcomes.

UGM-TC would not be able to run properly without the tireless dedication of our volunteers. To thank them for their faithful service we held our annual volunteer banquet right here in the UGM-TC courtyard. The evening was complete with tours of the new Scott Walker Building, delicious food, live music, and fellowship among our volunteers. We are so grateful for each and every person who dedicates time here. Did you know last year alone, we logged 32,822 volunteer hours!

Lastly, we are delighted to announce that we raised over $42,000 on North Texas Giving Day! We could not have done it without the support of the marvelous individuals in our community!
