This past Saturday, we were happy to welcome some of our former residents who have graduated from the program within the past year back to the Mission for a very special luncheon. We throw two lunches a year for our former residents in order to see how they’re doing in their independent lives and ask if there are any needs not being met for them so that we may continue to think of ways to assist them beyond their time with us as a resident.
We were delighted to host over 25 former residents at Saturday’s lunch. It was so nice to see all of their smiling faces and hear directly from each of them how they are doing. Some of our Case Managers on duty were able to pop in and talk with their former clients. It’s always a treat when former residents can chat with the people they worked so closely with during their time at the Mission.
Being so close to Thanksgiving, we also made sure that each resident went home with a Thanksgiving box full of all of the essentials to make a delicious, traditional Thanksgiving meal. We were happy to alleviate any kind of stress that the holidays can bring by providing them with all of the necessary staple food items to help make their Thanksgiving wonderful.
We can’t wait until the next Former Resident Lunch in the spring!
