“It’s been a TRUE BLESSING to be here at the Mission”

The holidays used to be a nightmare for Catherine. Battered by her husband, she’d try to dull the pain with addiction. Thanksgiving just reminded her she had no family to surround a happy table, no escape.

Catherine came to UGM-TC just before the holidays last year, when the violence finally put her husband in jail. “I had no hope to live,” she remembers sadly. “I was lonely and very depressed.”

But her whole face takes on a glow as she pictures that Thanksgiving. “I hadn’t had a good Thanksgiving in 10 or 15 years. Thanksgiving here was wonderful! It was a very festive occasion. I can’t explain how awesome it was to be here.”

From that moment on, Catherine’s life changed. “I couldn’t help but lift my head and know there’s a way out [of my circumstances and depression]. It’s been a true blessing to be here at the Mission.”

Catherine is among hundreds of other women, men and children who have been blessed by the generosity of friends like you who have made this God’s healthy place to end homelessness – one person at a time! Since UGM-TC receives no government funding, we truly wouldn’t be here without you!

Give hope during the holidays to others like Catherine by donating today.
