Men like Terry found the help he needed in the Men’s Residential Program Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County

For Men Only: Programs for Positive Change

Every man living on the streets has a unique story. Many suffer from mental illness, unemployment, and addictions. But whatever the reason, men who are homeless share basic needs: affordable housing, adequate incomes, and healthcare. Because many men also require services like mental health treatment and alcohol or substance abuse rehabilitation, we partner with other organizations to make sure these needs are met.

UGM-TC provides the following for men:

  • Temporary shelter for guests from 7 pm – 7 am daily
  • Non-traditional housing program
  • Strength-based case management
  • 24-hour shelter during severe weather
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily
  • Educational opportunities
  • Referrals to various social service agencies within the community
  • Spiritual Care programs – Interdenominational devotionals and daily chapel services
  • Daily opportunities for Christian guidance/counseling
  • Work readiness program for residents
  • Transportation – bus passes for those needing to go to appointments and jobs
